Building a sense of place

Teaching Philosophy:

Place-based: Peter believes in teaching in place by incorporating local ecology and the cultural landscape of the places and communities he teaches within.

Curiosity-driven: Our questions and curiosity are what drive our best, most memorable learning. Creating a safe and supportive space through well crafted facilitation and intentional modeling for students to follow their curiosity, empowering them to take ownership of their learning and create meaning.

Student centered: Peter honors the knowledge, experiences and stories that students bring with them and prioritizes their voices and aims for a positive learning experience.

Hospitality: All are welcome, all voices and learning styles are valued and his task is to meet students where they are at and provide what he can to help make their learning experience successful.

Peter's teaching experience includes having taught environmental education in Olympic National Park, culinary arts in Maine, high school biology in Iowa , and environmental stewardship in Wisconsin
