Peter Kraus

Peter is a place-based educator, value chain coordinator, naturalist, farm-to-table culinary artist and an outdoor athlete. 

 

His work has taken many shapes and forms ranging from his current position running the Iowa Food Hub to environmental education in Olympic National park to starting a sourdough bakery in Maine to teaching cooking workshops as a citizen-artist-in-residence in the Driftless region of the Midwest. Peter is passionate about building a sense of place by connecting food, ecology, and community. He recently returned to his hometown of Decorah, Iowa with his wife Rachael Button.
